We went to Birmingham over the weekend for the birthday celebrations (more in a later post!) and Anderson had a follow up visit with Dr. Cogen. He was very calm & sat patiently waiting during the 2 hour visit. This was the best picture I could get of him. The visit went pretty much as expected. Despite my desperate yet subtle pleas for patching praise, we did not receive any. Sigh. Is it too much to ask for a little pat on the back after keeping an eye patch on a TODDLER? Apparently it is, but that is why I love this man. He does not play around. He reminded us again how serious this is and how we will not get this time back. He compared it to a 6 year marathon. Just because we've patched for 4 months doesn't mean we are done and there is no partial credit in this race. (However, I am pretty sure that marathon participants get a t-shirt so I am still waiting on that one) Anyway, so we continue our 10 hour patching regiment until the next visit in June. Anderson is a boy in motion!! Lv to all!
ReplyDeleteI personally think you deserve a medal instead of a T-Shirt! GO Melissa! Best Mom ever! I understand why the doctor didn't say anything, there are so many other people in the world that would stop the patching. Obviously he doesn't know the Glovers! For Halloween you have to dress him as a cabbage, then he would be a cabbage patch kid! I hope you are laughing and not wondering why we are friends right now. :-)
ReplyDeleteOh Emily, that would be the perfect Halloweeen costume.. So funny. Guys, After you complete this marathon, people who run the Boston Marathon will not have anything on ya'll. :)
ReplyDeleteI think the t-shirt should be beige. Maybe a "dishwasher water" sort of beige.
ReplyDeleteMiss the boy.
I love the cabbage patch idea!!!
