Thank goodness for Aunt Manda & her photography skills!
My bug at 15 months:
** Weighs 22 lbs, which is the 15th percentile & measures 30 1/4 inches, which is the 25th. He is a little guy but the doc doesn't seem too concerned because it is in propotion to his height. Plus, this doesn't surprise me. The boy is ridiculously active all of the time & just doesn't have time to eat! He is a pretty picky eater & I really think it is because he is just curious & interested in everything & doesn't want to waste time sitting. Or, it is just because he is a toddler.
**RUNNING everywhere! Everywhere. He literally runs laps around the kitchen with this little stroller I got him at a garage sale. (It is not girly if he uses it to run over things/dogs) One of his favorite things to do is go up & down stairs & he tries to step one foot per step which really doesn't work because he is a toddler and the size of steps are really made for adults.
**Loves: trucks & tractors (he will point them out & gets so excited when he sees them-he's a lucky boy that Noni has construction in her neighborhood!), Chloe & Gabbi, drinking his bathtub water, bringing us our shoes & trying to put them on us, the Hot Dog song on Mickey Mouse, Bubbles, his wagon, the lawnmower/vacumm/weedeater/anything with a motor, climbing on stuff, a good tantrum when he is mad, playing tag with his pj pants after his bath, waving bye bye to everything, holding our hands, rocks, touch and feel books or books with pictures, taking off his glasses/patch when he wants something & we won't give it to him, using our silverware & our plates, completing chores (throwing stuff away, feeding the dogs, putting up the hamper-he helps with all of it! It maybe takes twice as long with his "help" but it is so worth it!)
**Dislikes: sleeping in socks, taking the time to sit down & eat, sitting in general, something on his hands(like food or something sticky), when we try to put the patch back on him, not seeing any trucks when we have waited for what seems like forever, having to get out of the bathtub, sleeping past 5am
**Words: Finally, proof that he is related to me-he talks a lot! His doc was very impressed with all of his words & that he knows all of his body parts (see below) He has started repeating what we say & it is precious! All kinds of random stuff from ding-dong to peach. Of course, it takes some interpreting skills but it is pretty fun. A few of his regulars are dada, mama, Bop, Gabbi, truck(this one is never said calmly), tractor, bubble, shoe, cookie, noni, byebye, hi, bath, rock, duck, quack, vacuum, here, key, banana, apple (he doesn't actually want to eat them, though), sponge bob (ba bob), mickey, train, choo choo, ruff ruff, moose (he has a book with a moose in it) and GG!!
Here is a video of him naming all of his body parts (minus the eyes-we try not to mention those so as not to bring attention to the patch).Good thing his Noni is such a good teacher! I might need to bring her to school with me to get my kids ready for the AP test.

Those photos are gorgeous!! And, I am so impressed with his speech (much like I suppose you will always be an infant vision advocate). I hope you all have a wonderful Easter!

ReplyDeleteShannon, you know I love to make up songs, so we sing a rock rock song when we go to bed. The other day, he joined in and started to sing. So cute.
I love the video! Anderson is so smart! He sounds like Lily, loving to join in on songs.
ReplyDeleteThe pictures your sister-in-law took are amazing! She is so talented. I love a little boy in overalls and no shirt!
He is a genius! Which is why the glasses are so fitting - only truly smart people need them :) His pictures are perfect. totally contest worthy :)
