Y'all know that we some hard core VOL fans around here and are always grateful when we get to snag Nicole's tickets & go to a game. Actually, this one was even better because we got to go with Nicole & Lily! In true Melissa/Nicole form, it kept getting more free when we got there late and still managed to snag front row spots at the Vol Walk. Anderson was a teeny bit unimpressed because, as you might recall, he is already best friends with Evan Berry & Josh Malone based on the pictures and autographs on my fridge.
For about 3 months he has wanted this Nike UT backpack and stalks it whenever we go anywhere that sells UT stuff. I could be wrong, but I think there is a high chance that Santa might bring it to him this year.
Nothing screams VLF like eating half of a cookie cake waiting for kickoff.
I am 100% sure that we were in college the last time that we got to go to a game together, so this was a lot of fun!

Our older kids are a special kind of intense so we did have to separate them at points, but overall, they had a lot of fun!
In addition to cheering on our VOLS, we have been staunch supporters of America around here. Election Day is one of my favorite holidays and I will consider myself a failure if I do not impart this onto my kids. I recognize that one way to make them love all things America is to hide it in sugar, hence the baking of a Red/White/Blue cake on election eve.

If you look closely, you will see us waiting in line! I love nothing more than voting on Election Day. I love honoring the Constitution and enjoying the excitement of the day. I think the honor and privilege of being able to participate in a Republic are so amazing that I would never want to celebrate early. It sounds so nerdy and that is because I am an actual nerd. You know, if I needed to clear up any confusion.

ReplyDeleteAlso, I didn't know the backpack was orange. For some reason I had it pictured as a different color. Maybe grey
