Another season of flag football is in the books for Anderson and, as always, he had an amazing time.
Luckily, we now have this magnet on our fridge so that we can be reminded daily of how much we love our little football player.
One of the reasons that we loved this season so much was because his 2 best friends were on the team!
Side note: Since I am also friends with their moms, this was a huge, huge win for me.
For over 2 years, this guy has been obsessed with the game of football and this year was no different. He loves the game, he understands the game and playing the game is his favorite thing in life.
Meanwhile....Max was at the practices and games, usually hanging with Lucy, begging to go to the playground, eating or just being this cute.
I love that gap toothed smile.
Anderson always had an amazing cheering section including GG, Noni, Uncle Curtis, the cousins and Bobble Cole. Family for the win, as usual.
This season was an interesting one, for sure. Anderson has always excelled at sports (this is my documenting space and I am going to be honest-I am not bragging, just documenting) and this year was no exception. He played well-scoring a few touchdowns every game, making interceptions, pulling many, many flags, etc. A lot of this is due to his understanding of the game, his intensity in all things/at all times (come to my house at 5am and you will see what I mean) and his quickness.
But, I credit most his success to the fact that he practices ALL.OF.THE.TIME. He is always practicing by himself or, more often, in the backyard with Brandon. I know that all dads play football in the backyard with their kids, but I can't help but feel exceptionally grateful for my family's experience with this because my inability to throw the football well resulted in many frustrated moments by my 6 year old in our backyard.
As I document the season I am tempted to bring up the situation where we had to defend Anderson's enjoyment of the game to the refs, other parents and other coaches, but I think that is a story for another post.
To close out, here are some videos of my favorite football player doing what he loves:

(side note: who is proud of me for recording that last one?? I mean, who has their camera ready on defense? #goldstar)
