All of our Eater festivities, crammed in one post

Because I will shamelessly exploit all grandparents, I invited the Brimers over for an egg hunt at Noni's house. I really love the idea of a big community egg hunt, but the few we have been to over the years have just not been that much fun because there are so many people and so few eggs. So, we just do our own!I hid 60 eggs in Noni's back yard and the 3 of them (Max had zero interest in eggs) had fun running around and finding them.

He didn't find any eggs, but he sure managed to eat the chocolate in them.

They "traded" the bugs. I love boys.

One of his cute Easter shirts from GG. How cute is this kid? I just cannot even handle it.

Because we love our Y, we went to their egg hunt/dive again this year. Anderson has become such an awesome swimmer and he managed to get quite a few eggs.

The Easter Bunny. Let's talk about this. Why are there no details to the bunny's life/location/etc? I could convince Anderson of Santa because there are details-elves, Mrs. Claus, the North Pole, the sleigh, Rudolph with the carrots, the bag that is like Hermione's endless bag that fits all of the toys. The bunny is just a bunny. Where does he live? Does he make the eggs? Who makes the toys? Animals don't talk! Santa is at least a person.

I cannot handle all of this. The best I could come up with is that the Easter bunny gets donations from  places like CVS and that parents actually hide the eggs. I told my 5 year old that because I was literally clueless as to how to answer his questions. Donations. CVS. He is going to need therapy.

And, then we NEVER talked about the Easter Bunny again. Literally, it never came up. I was sure not going to walk down that dark alley again and bring it up and I think Anderson is afraid to question too much because he wants goodies in his basket.

Meanwhile, Max saw the Easter Bunny across the room and had a heart attack from fear, so at least we have a few years before I have to explain the CVS donations again.

Back to the Y. There were cookies and drinks and goodies and it was a fun time!

Especially because we got to see Sunny! Look at her adorable shirt and hair and then there is Anderson...
We, of course, dyed eggs..

and continued our yearly tradition of destroying them immediately. He pretended that they were hatching dinosaurs.

Easter egg hunt at Bobble Cole's house.

There was a little drama over one egg they both wanted, but they sorted it out, which means they might actually be growing up.

The Easter bunny made a visit with his donated goods from CVS!

Do you see the rabbit on the grass? Gabbi almost ate it earlier in the day, which would have ended badly because the boys thought maybe he was a helper for the Easter Bunny. When he reappeared, Anderson was determined to catch it but, thankfully, did not manage to because I told him he could keep it if he did.

This is the best pic I got of the 2 of them on Easter & I love it because it is real life-early morning chocolate bunny eating in pajamas with awesome bed head. I love these boys.

We had lunch at GG's where she did not cease to amaze us with her delicious food and decorative table! Her attention to detail is one of my favorite things about her & she always does a party up right!

Lunch was followed by another egg hunt.

With the last hunt of the evening occurring on Easter night around our house. Max was content to find about 3 eggs and eat the candy, wrapper & all, in each one before he moved on to the next one. I know egg hunts are going to end in fights when Max is old enough to fight Anderson for them.

I put candy, coins, dinosaur tattoos and little animals in the eggs. Just like the baskets, they were stuffed and ready to go, sitting in our attic over a month before Easter. Sometimes I love my preparedness/hoarding and sometimes it just makes me tired.

Happy Easter everyone!

  2. The easter bunny was the first thing to go for Jacob. He just flat out told me right after the easter during his kindergarten year that adidn't a giant bunny "doesn't make sense. " and Morgan was suspicious for a while but never gave up hope. It just creeped her out that the Easter bunny didn't blink. I do love the donation theory though

  3. I love this. I overheard Jeremy telling Violet that the Easter Bunny lives in a cage. Umm, no. I told them he lives in a magical forest. Whatever. They believe that they want to believe. I like the CVS version personally.
