It was FOOTBALL TIME in the Glover house

We started flag football.

As you might know, Anderson is obsessed with football. After he gave me a busted lip during one intense game of 2-hand-touch ("I promise I won't tackle, Mama!"), we agreed it was time to find another outlet for this sport than us.

Please note his neon cleats that he chose himself and LOVES.

Also, yet again, Brandon proved himself to be the most AMAZING dad ever. How does he know SO much about every sport that Anderson plays? (soccer, baseball, basketball and football so far)
I love the lessons of sports-teamwork, sportsmanship and work ethic, so I am all about encouraging sports that he wants to play. But....I am just not sure yet about football. According to Dr. Cogen, he will never be able to play tackle football because of his transplant lens, and I worry that the longer he plays flag, the more he is going to want to do tackle.

No matter my thoughts,  Anderson really loved being a part of it...for the first few weeks anyway.

The season was a little more intense than other sports that we played-freezing rain, snow, pouring down rain, practice & THREE games in one day (to make up for weather issues) were not happening at the Y soccer, but seemed normal here. I learned some valuable lessons about raising kids in sports, I guess. I  also learned a lot about chasing a 1 year old around in the freezing rain, which is definitely a skill I have mastered.

All of the kids on his team were older/bigger than him because there were not enough kids to make a 6U league. He was seriously so cute out there, though.

Football proved difficult to get pics of because it is such a team sport that there are very few times one person has the ball and because it is flag and they are little people, their plays where people did have the ball lasted like 4 seconds, so I have very few to show for the season. And, Anderson did not have the ball that often because the bigger kids dominated the game most of the time.

Also, I had this even tinier person I was chasing around every game, which kept me a little busy.

End of Season Party after their last game-he was wearing shorts and the week earlier we were playing in freezing rain.
The team.

What would a post about Anderson's sporting events be without a few pics summing up Max?We played many games such as "Chasing Max everywhere" and "Where is Max now?" Probably our most favorite was, "Why is Max on the field again?"

This was challenging because we were in the cold so much (except the above picture), but it was not nearly as difficult as chasing him around during basketball. That effort definitely wins because it was indoors.

"Need digger, Mama!"

    He is starting early.

Pouring rain this day. But, how CUTE IS THIS KID??

  1. In a way, This looks worse than glitter and girl drama. :/

Although, Ferg with the football and Anderson next to the older kids is pretty precious. I love him just out there with the older kids, who are all like a foot taller.

    Digger.
