Let the Wild Rumpus START!

My King of the Wild Things celebrated his first birthday last week & we Wild Rumpused it up!

Once upon a time, my sister said, "Can I plan Max's party as his birthday present?" And, since I had already shouted yes as loud as possible before she even finished talking, she was on it.
*Keep in mind that she has 2 intense small children so the bulk of the planning was done in the sacred time after 10 pm when her kids were finally asleep.

Y'all.

This party was possibly the most perfect, greatest themed, adorable party EVER! I mean, every little detail made me so happy.

When we found out I was pregnant, I knew right away it was going to be a boy & I know I wanted a rumpus starter as my kid, so his name was, of course, Max. And, even though I have never doubted even for a second that it is the perfect name for him, this party just solidified that we made the BEST choice ever!

Nicole totally missed her calling as a party planner. She did such a creative job!

Reese is obsessed with Max. She literally fell over trying to get to his giant picture. Adorable.

I am serious.
Gold edible glitter on the cupcakes! And, those cupcake toppers! Aaaghh!
The destroying of the balloons after the party...possibly Anderson's favorite part.

Oh, and then there was that time that my mom arranged for a fire truck to come to the party. A fire truck with firefighters. At the party. I cannot make these things up.
Pieces of Pie.

Wholly unimpressed. Annoyed, really.

Because being a mom is really about being more excited than your kid is about his cupcake.

Also, SHOUT OUT to GG who let us crash her house!! Thank you! Literally, we showed up with 30 people (many of them small & sticky), lots of food, decorations, a hot mess really....If I have not mentioned how lucky I am, I sure need to now!

One of the best pics I got him of in his cute little shirt. (Also, bought by Bobble Cole...)
Even cuter close up

This is the forest that we went through to get to the Where the Wild Things Are.
So many helpers...

Bop even made him a crown!
I didn't contribute anything to this balloon arch, but I did pose with it.

Not cooperative with pictures. Also thankful Cousin Shae sent us this Wild Thing a long time ago because he has sure been utilized on many occasions.
The story...
The Best Day.
Hanging out with the Godfather.

Fun times outside.

Look at this adorable girl in her party outfit!! This will be on the Rehearsal Dinner slideshow...
The besties on the fire truck! Love Lucy's grin! Also, that is what Max's belly looks like if you were wondering.

SO thankful for these people!
Did I mention there was a fire truck?
I have got to get some better pics of this boy with his aunts!  We love you, Aunt LoLo!

What did I contribute, you ask? Well, I bought some food at Sam's, clearance shopped for goody bags & had everyone hoard boxes for this "activity" where the kids just created towers & destroyed them.
I love making goody bags.

Balloon Man!
4 of the original Glovers.
So spoiled by so many aunts!
Besties in mom form!

Apparently I was in a lot of pics that day. Love you guys!

  1. Max was the king!!!! He can be a bit of a wild thing, so his party fit him to a tee.
Everything was perfect. Nicole did an awesome job with all the details, big and small. Even Lily was in theme with her tree dress.

Max is so adorable with that blond hair. Love him.

  2. This truly was one of the best parties EVER. Max was adorable and I love how completely unimpressed he is with his cupcake. He just knows that rumpus cannot take place while strapped in a high chair. You guys did such an awesome job! Happy 1st Max!!!

  3. How fun and adorable! I love party planning with a theme - and this one looks like it was amazing! Max is such a big boy now. And your in-law's house is freaking gorgeous.

  4. Oh my goodness- perfect! Does Nicole plan weddings?!? Oh, and you can contribute too. I'm sure the groomsmen would enjoy building with boxes while the girls are getting ready. :)
