Max: One month

This boy is seriously perfect. I cannot believe I have been lucky enough to snuggle him for an entire month already. He makes me so happy. I have seriously joked on more than one occasion that he is like my prozac because he just sort of chills me out a bit (there really is not anything/anyone that can chill me out more than a bit.)

I told someone he is perfect and their reply was, "Oh, is he sleeping through the night?" This was when he was 2 weeks old. Um, no. That would be called, "Not a newborn, but thanks".

By perfect, I mean he makes me happy and I just want to have him with me at all possible times. And, that he takes a pacifier. Pretty perfect to me.

A little fuzzy, but I like his expression here.

He is not on any kind of schedule yet, but we are trying to do Eat, Awake, Sleep. He usually takes a pretty good morning nap (around 7:30am) and then the rest of the day is just random. He is a champ when we are home all day and he can nap in his swing. He does sleep pretty well in the car seat, too. Nighttime is sporadic, but he has given me a few 5 hours stretches and the first stretch is usually at least 3 hours (once we can get him to actually go to sleep). The rest of the night he wakes up anywhere from 1-3 more times, just depending on his mood. We are still working on clear night vs. day times because sometimes he wants to be wide awake at 2am and that is not going to fly. I am trying to stretch all of his feedings to every 3 hours, but it doesn't always work. I am exclusively nursing so far and he is awesome at it and  he has taken a few pumped bottles, which is amazing.

LOVES: his swaddle (he acts like he hates it, but don't be deceived...), his MAM pacifier (WHAT ON EARTH?), his boppy lounger, his swing, eating, acting frantic while waiting to eat, fist pumping/talking when he is excited, actually being in the bath water (not the getting in/getting out part) the window/lights, his Bobble, being perfect

DISLIKES: being in one place/position too long, the period between 5-9pm, people who are not his Bobble, having to wait to eat, anything that doesn't make him perfect

He might look like a Glover, but there is some Italian blood in there...check out the hands as he talks!
The brothers are still pretty tight.

The kid spends a lot of time chilling in his carrier, usually with Lucy camped out next to him. I guarantee he has been more places in his first month than most first born babies go in a year.

  3. Max and I are just alike!!! I also hate things that don't make me perfect. Rest assured Max, one day you will learn to overcome and be perfect no matter what. Oh, wait, you're a male...hmmm, sorry, you will just get more imperfect as you age. sorry.

  4. So cute, getting more & more anxious to hold him. I know you are not looking forward to going back to work but you could pretend that he will not take a bottle so he has to come with you - play the "do you want him to starve" card - maybe it will work!
