REESE Amanda Hughes

My niece, Reese Amanda Hughes, made her appearance on Feb 18 at 5:30 and was perfectly precious from the start!! First, she was born on President's Day, so clearly she is a girl after my own heart. Second, it was our half birthday (how many people speak in plural as often as twins??), so there is a really fun connection. Third, it was the 2 year anniversary of Anderson's eye surgery, which has just proven to be the greatest lesson in life, love and hanging in there that I have ever learned and I really feel that sums up parenting, in general.

My poor sister was in labor FOREVER. Nicole went into the hospital at 1am and she was not born until 5:30pm! We seriously did not think this baby was ever going to actually be here. 

But, then she was! Let's just say that we all saw this picture and thought..."She is Lily's sister, for sure."

 The first thing I said when I met her was, "She looks like us!" (Again, with that plural thing) Over the course of the next few days, she looked like us, Lily, my brother and my nephew, Noah, all at once!

Look at how creative Nicole is with the little Reese bags! The back side says, "We Love her to Pieces!" What is more fun than that??

AAAGGHH! I just cannot get over the fact that is here and so precious and my very own second niece!!

I look awkward, but this was one of the first times I held her and I want to remember how we bonded from the start.

Cousins! How amazing is it that I get to use Lucy & Reese as examples to Anderson as to what "our baby" is going to be like? He told me the other day, "I think we need to go see Baby Reese again."

My sister is such a rock star already and I am so lucky to have to her go through this whole 2 kid thing first. I will keep everyone posted with lots of pics of this little girl's life:)
