patching...take 2 (or 200)

Thanks for the positive comments and love from everyone about the last post. I'm off the patching ledge for awhile, I think. Saw this quote, which gave me some perspective.

There will be so many positives of this patching thing. I really do believe it. I just have to make it to those positives. This quote helps.

  2. Gaining perspective helps and so does getting it all out sometimes. Glad you just did both! ;) Happy Easter!

  3. I know that this is one of those comments that could be taken wrong, but here goes... Because of patching, Anderson will be compassionate towards others and I know that does not make patching easy...in fact I cannot even imagine, but as a Mom, compassion is one of the most important things that I hope that my children will learn. You are doing great and we cannot wait to celebrate someday the results of all your hardwork!

    1. you're so right. I have become SO much more compassionate myself and I was not expecting that. One day I actually think we will be mostly positive about this whole thing!

  4. i wrote a response to that last post and for some reason it didn't show up. who knows. but it wasn't even about the patch (i'm a loser). i keyed in on the potty training regression. i just wanted to tell you that i have noticed with jacob (and i think most boys) that they do everything in their own sweet time. they are not the least bit interested in achieving "typical" milestones like girls are. with the exceptions of walking and talking (he did both early, joy) he has been right there with morgan in everything else, AND SHE IS 4 MONTHS YOUNGER. potty training, getting off the bottle, learning abc's, reading and writing. seriously. however, he can still name every transformer, even though he hasn't been interested in them in over a year, and what's more, there are a thousand loose pieces in the tub, and he still knows which transformer each piece belongs to. crazy. so don't stress about anderson taking his time on anything. last summer i decided it was time for jacob to learn to ride his bike w/o training wheels. i mean, he was 7. but he fought me tooth and nail. morgan learned in the fall, but he was still adamant. less than a month ago, he decided it was time, got on, and just started riding. just like that. now he rides to school and to track practice. so don't worry. boys are just like that (stubborn). in the meantime, is there anything you would like to know about tractors??

***oh, i was quite astonished at the amount of patches he used in one day. be brave momma. you will not regret one single second of your effort.
