the to and the fro

Part 2 of the Spring Break trip: the traveling.
We were on 4 different flights due to layovers both ways, which meant a lot of time to keep Anderson entertained confined to a seat that he could very easily unbuckle! He was so, so excited about the airplane, the big ship, all of the "trains" (shuttles), the fact that he didn't have to sit in a car seat in the Bahamas & ALL of the construction that we passed as we  rode around the islands. The boy does love his transportation. He has a cute airplane shirt on for the ride. Love a theme.

We traveled to Orlando & spent the night before boarding the ship the next day, which happened to be St. Patrick's Day (happy birthday, Jeannie!). You know this boy loves his green, so this was a big day for him. It would have been even bigger had he not woken up at 4:30am as this put in him a Grumpy mood for a chunk of the day. But, not at this point! Love these guys:)
The hotel we stayed at was right next to a Waffle House so he made the kids get a part time job to cover their share of the trip. It was about time.
Push ups after dinner. We are pretty sure they thought this was the vacation. Look at the second round of airplane travel attire-Nicole bought him these appliques on Etsy and I love them.
The only pic of the 3 of us on the trip.
Playing with trains in the Orlando airport.(We missed you, Jack!) I stockpiled a few things during the after Christmas clearances in anticipation for the trip.
Lots of Mickey propaganda
After a 15 hour day on the way home he finally crashed at the airport. He was so tired that he slept the entire flight home! So thankful for my parents who helped keep him entertained/

This super nice woman at Wendy's was super sweet & gave Anderson one of each of their kids' meals toys. (I will work the patch sympathy when I need to...) One of them was a "Create your own monster" kit! This, along with fruit snacks, m&ms, a bobcat & Brandon's ability to draw very detailed construction equipment allowed the passengers around us to not go crazy.

Waiting for our shuttle. I think we left with 20 little boxes of cereal. It's my hoarding gene.

In Nassau, having a GREEN snack, watching construction. Forget the fact that there was a view of the ocean on the other side. No, we had to watch the backhoe. Also, the green ice cream was pistachio almond. I kept trying to convince him to get chocolate but he actually ate almost a whole scoop of the green!

  1. Just so you know, I am hiring you out for the next 10 family vacations. You will be in charge of keeping my kids entertained b/c I know that on the four hour trip to Jackson this week, Jack never looked as tickled as Anderson and Lily did in transit! I love the Waffle House pics! And the family photo of the 3 of you cracked me up. We missed you guys so much!

  2. After looking at both posts... the pics of Anderson and Lily together just crack me up every time. They make me think of Easton and Azalea. The rough and tumble sandy brown haired boy with a patch hanging out with the adorable princess diva with dark brown hair. I've always felt like my two are very similar to your two, too cute!

  3. Traveling with a child that needs very little sleep sounds exhausting. Awake at 4:30 AM.... AAAAHHHH!!!! You poor thing!

Love all of the pictures, and that you took a picture of a construction view and not the ocean. :) The things we give up for our children. But look at the things we gain.

  4. Congrats on surviving that - the traveling is always the worst part of any trip with my kids. It looks like you were more than prepared, though. I hate that the only picture of the three of you is backlit.

Thanks for the b-day shout out!!
