You probably saw them. There were quite a few in our neighborhood, too. With their store bought costumes and awkward black patches, those fake pirates sure tried to mess up the image of the real ones. Don't worry. Anderson represented, real eyepatch and all!
A cowboy and a pirate-2 American heroes.
I do like to bring my parents with us whenever possible. They hung out with Anderson at one point while Brandon & I went through this pretty elaborate haunted maze in our neighborhood. I was terrified, further proving to Brandon that he married a wimp.
Pops is so talented. How fun is this witch?
The wagon ride complete with a pirate sword (thanks, Aunt Clare!), a pumpkin bucket, a sippy cup and, of course, a bobcat.
Stop everything. Anderson found the moon.
After practicing at Boo at the Zoo & church, Anderson knew exactly what to do. I guess he knew a little too well because in the franticness to get to the next house we had a few falls.
He was so excited about the whole thing, which could be because I could not wait to start. We were out at 6:00 and didn't make it home until 7:30, which was even better than I expected! He even kept the hat on because we told him he couldn't trick or treat without it. He had so much fun watching everyone in the streets. We have a lot of trick or treaters, many of whom I have never actually seen before and didn't appear to speak English. I bought 8 bags of candy at CVS in preparation (I got some really good coupons, so I spent under $10 on all of it) and we only had 2 bags left.
We found a pirate! This guy was so nice and gave Anderson a lot of candy because he said wearing a patch just for a few minutes was pretty awful. Seriously, he was kind of in awe of Anderson for being such a trooper. Aren't we all?
Going through the loot. This was always my favorite part of trick or treating. We had hard core trading with my cousins that involved rules on how many points each kind of candy was worth. We took it very seriously.
While he loved trick or treating, nothing can beat the trucks. And, just because I am obsessed with my kid, here is an adorable video of him saying "Happy Halloween!" It is, as always, not edited and kind of random, but you get the idea of his cuteness.
I love the first picture of Brandon and Anderson...it is so good.. Also, the video is good, but it does not do justice of how cute he was saying "Happy Halloween" to everyone. It was precious. And thanks for always wanting us around, we love it and y'all.
ReplyDeleteOkay, I LOVE your blog! I get so excited every time there is a new post. Anderson is absolutely precious, and I love his glasses (reminds me of myself). I have a special place in my heart for kids with glasses. You are fabulous Mrs. Glover- your whole family is!! Props to y'all for keeping that eye patched! I am praying it gets easier and has positive results once you get through it all.
ReplyDeleteCall me crazy, but my favorite thing about your blog is that I can totally hear you saying it all. It is a little reminder of how much I miss you. Gosh, I love your endless amount of random facts (i.e. Jackie Kennedy post). I miss you so much!! Thank you for always putting a smile on my face and brightening my day!
Love the moon pic. Definitely miss the hardcore trading with Keith and Michael.
ReplyDeleteI cannot believe he can say Happy Halloween so well!
He is perfection. I am sure all the fake pirates out there were shamed to be in the presence of the real deal. ;)
ReplyDeleteAhoy Captain Anderson! What a lil treasure he is!
ReplyDeleteabsolutely adorable, as always! i can not imagine where his franticness comes from...
ReplyDeleteAesson is the cutest pirate out there! You are such an inspiration to me; I only hope that when I'm a teacher, I can be as dedicated and amazing as you are even when you're dealing with something a lot of people couldn't handle by itself. You are truly a wonderful person! Can't wait for dinner next week!

He is an absolutely adorable pirate. I like your costumes, too.
ReplyDeleteI love that he can see the moon with his patch on. Right now Austin can't see that far away, I don't think anyway. Patched he seems to not care about it, if it is more than 5 feet away.
that's right, pay homage to the candy trade. and did yall tell the man/pirate that he was wearing his patch on the wrong eye? and i am completely there with ya on the failed attempts at the family photo...just wait till you see this year's Christmas card...i just had to go with one...
ReplyDeleteCutest real pirate ever!!! I love you Anderson Glover!
