the final countdown.

We crammed A LOT into our last week of summer! Lily was here for the week, which was so, so fun. She was hilarious to watch as Anderson followed her around in awe & she, in turn, watched him with a terrified/apprehensive expression as he threw jello on the floor or we stopped everything to watch the mailmen. I love this picture because it captures the difference between a girl & boy, as she is reading a chapter book & he is making tractor grunts. We made a playground.

He loves rocking in his chair with GG. He will point at it, directing her to it, & then snuggle up. Also, we can tell when he is tired because he always puts his hand over his ear. He loves his face covered when he is asleep.

Because my Parents are Planners, Patient (& Perfect!), they are always on the lookout for something fun to do. Usually this is happening while I am trying to figure out how to not leave my house. Anyway, they planned a fun cookout at the Cove & we played, ate hot dogs & rode Chelsea's jetski. Uncle Brandon & Lily playing on the slide. She loves her Uncle Brandon!
Anderson attempting to join the game of ladder ball.
Bop & Brandon trying to play before Anderson grabs all of the balls.
Cupcakes!

Ducks!

It's hard to believe that Lily is 2 & Sunny is 9 months! It seems like they were both just born.
Dollywood has this toddler water area that is apparently designed for the boy version of toddler as he could not get enough of it. Lily, meanwhile, kept an eye on things from the fence.

Please look at the expression of admiration on Anderson's face. I love them. Seriously, having Lily here is awesome. Anderson follows her around & she will say, "Sissa! I need me!" & hug my leg. It is my favorite.

It's rough being a toddler.

How cute is Anderson's bottom lip?
Asleep on the swing. We are transitioning into the 1 nap thing & it is actually going very well now since some days he actually sleeps until 6am & has been taking a nap for around an hour and a half. It was a rough month with the lack of sleeping thing, but I am really hoping that it was just a phase. We also started putting a pillow in his bed, which terrifies me, but it has made a pretty big difference.
They share everything.
How cute is this?? They are GROWN UPS!!
Bop got a new tractor. Anderson's life is complete. He will wave bye bye to it & blow it kisses. Sometimes, he even kisses it directly with the kiss noise & everything.
The product of 2 OCD parents is a toddler whose first thought when he is handed a wipe is to clean something. Both handles are removed now because he is like a magnet with turning water on...flooding the bathroom, etc.
We got to hang out with Jessica, who brought Anderson all kinds of truck goodies! (Of course she did!!) We clearly like some pancake breakfasts around here since we are now 2 for 2 Saturdays!
We celebrated the last day of summer with ice cream from the ice cream truck! After a stern lecture on never again approaching creepy looking men in white vans who are offering you food, we got the goods & hung out with the neighbors across the street. He is pointing at me, trying to get my hand. LOVE it.

I took him to school to try to clean my classroom some & it wasn't really a success due to the lack of air conditioners & the fact that he doesn't do well trapped in a room. But, we did get to see a forklift in action!! So, I guess it was a success in that regard. I love his little hand.
There are few things that this boy likes better than a garbage truck, but I would venture a bet that his Bobble would be a front runner. We are totally best friends. This means that he likes me right there at all times. As a part of my ongoing quest to actually work out once a year, I took him to the YMCA's childcare. They have such fun toys & our monthly payment, so I thought this would be a good idea. It was. For 8 minutes. Then, the entire gym hears, "Bobble!! My Bobble!" Oh, Bobble!" I went back to get him & , I played with him outside for a few minutes & then ran out once he discovered the sandbox. I guess sand might beat me out, after all.

A few clips from the cousins. My favorite parts: Anderson trying to make Lily steer as frantically as he is & Lily having her snack.

  2. Awh back to school already?! Us Northern'ers don't go back for another month! That is if I was actually going back. ;) Part of me looks forward to it though, something about a fresh new start that only a school year can provide. I am sure you are going to miss hanging out with Anderson all day, but it will make coming home that much more enjoyable. I wish you all best.

  3. Oh, so much.

First, I would like Sissa, I think.

I LOVE how excited he is about Yilly! And, I cannot believe him running through the water like that! a BOY for sure. (I also like how you can faintly hear "Bobble" while you are with Lily on the jetski.

Thanks for loving that girl. She loves her Sissa.

  5. My favorite picture is you asleep in the backseat with the kids. Hilarious! It sounds like you had an awesome summer, I'm sad for you to go back to school but your other family misses you too (cheerleaders/students). You're just so popular! I love the video montage! I now feel like I was with you all summer. :-)
