We missed first day pics, but here is one from the first week.
Max's teacher attends all of the parties! Amazing.
His class won a pizza party for PTA Membership AND for coupon books, which I loved because I will take any day that I don't have to make lunches.
Max's teacher sent me this pic and told me that Max was leading the conversation, sharing his ability to make arm pit farts.
Max's Christmas list
I am glad that he pays attention to where I work...
The cutest smile. I am so happy that picture day fell right when he was missing teeth. Also, he picked out his outfit and was adamant that he be allowed to wear this shirt. Because I want to remember my kids for how they were and not for who I tried to make them on picture day (ie: polo shirt,) I let him win this battle.
Veteran's Day
Coupon Book Party
He drew this on his own & was so happy to give it to me. I was VERY impressed!
"Mom, come get this please!" He lost another tooth.
Some kind of reward lunch in his class. (I feel like there were a lot of these reward lunches for some reason...)
Friendsgiving!
I will rush all of the time and live in a logistical nightmare, but I will not miss the school things. Also, are we actually related? I am pretty sure that based on this picture, the answer is no.
Max's "Thankful Turkey" is the best.
I love him so much. I did not make the cut, but soldiers did and that makes my heart happy.
Friendsgiving Lunch, again.
Lunch with the teacher & Micah...AND a really special black eye.
Some kind of reading showcase thing-Brandon is back there, sitting with a little boy who didn't have a parent there.
He did such a good job reading.
So proud of this kid for his reading ability & so grateful to his teacher for giving it to him. Also, yet again, I let him dress himself which is why he was repping his muscles for the crowd.
The grandmas were also there, of course!
100 Days of School
Another parent sent me these pics, but I was not able to go to that shindig.
I was the "Mystery Reader" one day (I took a sick day and went to the doctor and dentist, scheduled months in advance to line up with this volunteer day) and brought him lunch before it. He was SO excited about me being there. He picked out 2 books-"Who Was JFK?" and "Shark Attacks." The boys were very enthusiastic about the book choices, but the girls look terrified/annoyed.
Field Trip to Wonder Works! He had to miss the fall field trip because he had strep, so this was such a fun trip!
I love, love his teacher so much.
Lunch with his teacher.
Visit to the library for all of the Military books.
Obsessed with Gabs.
Book Character Day-he struggled to choose because he was torn between presidents, military leaders and Navy Seals.
Max's teacher did superlatives & he was awarded "History Buff" so you know I am BEYOND proud of him!
Funny things Max said:
His teacher asked them to write about what they do if they found a $100 bill and Max wrote, "I would pay to be able to vote for the president."
His teacher was talking about MLK as a minister and Max said, "But not the Prime Minister, like Churchill."
He saw the X-rays of his molars under the gumline at the dentist and asked me, "What color will my new teeth be? Can I request silver?"
He was going to a party & asked me to pack a bag and add some snacks for him during the party: 'just in case there are not enough snacks."
We asked where he wanted to eat and he requested "Outside Burger." He meant "Backyard Burger."
