Some events in March besides Spring Break.

Winter was the worst this year-we only got ONE snow day, but we also got LOTS of sickness. For example, the flu shots failed miserably on both boys' immune systems. Max got the flu from a kid (or 6...he was the 7th victim!) in his class because they were apparently falling like dominos. He was really only sort of pitiful so he did not get a very intense strain or maybe the flu shot partially worked. There was fever, puking and snuggling so it was a good balance of things overall.  During this month we also had sinus infections, stomach bugs and some other festive additions to our health.

Tamiflu worked TOO well, though.....

I only had to take 1/2 of a sick day during the flu fun because of the grandmas. While we waited for Noni to get off work one of the days, we hit up the park where Max had so much fun running around in his pajamas, spreading his germs.

Well, I guess these 2 boys do love each other occasionally.

Also, within 2 minutes of this Anderson was disappointed in his gesture because he wanted the toy back. I guess we have to take baby steps with the generosity around here.

Max wears his Ghostbusters jumpsuit every.single.day. I worked so hard to try  & convince him to have an army party in May (militee, as he calls it) because army stuff is actually available in stores, but I have failed miserably on that endeavor. Stay tuned for the Ghostbusters version of turning 4.

We were able to go to Bristol to celebrate our girl, Reese!

She is seriously the most petite little ball of muppet voiced adorableness and I cannot believe that she is 4!

So much cousin time.

Nicole's lake is no more for at least a few more years and my kids are PUMPED about this situation. They spent hours exploring, finding random junk and collecting things. I love watching them in their element and I mostly love the fact that it is not 9 million degrees outside yet.

Also...so much real life.

We always love when the 3 of us get to snuggle in a tiny bed. One day they will stay asleep without me when we are traveling, but today is not that day.

Also, they are so different when they sleep with me. Anderson has to literally be intertwined with me at all times with his face basically on top of mine so he can wake me up every 3 minutes to make sure I am there and ask if we can get up yet. Max needs one confirmation that I am there and then leaves me alone unless Monkey goes missing and he needs to wake me up to help locate him.

A grasshopper or worm or caterpillar or something was found at the park.

Reese's party was at a gymnastics place, so naturally Anderson promptly began playing football.
She had a Sponge Bob themed party, which was perfect because everyone loves the Sponge.

The highlight of Anderson's month was when Jack spent the night! They rented one of the Star Wars movies & Anderson really liked it, so I definitely appreciate Jack's influence on that one because it is just easier to have a kid who likes Star Wars, ya know?

Max will turn anything into a ghostbusters costume if one is not readily available.

For the first time in almost 4 years, we went to a party where I was able to sit the entire time because Max was so busy playing with his friends to need me for anything. It was surreal and amazing. But....then I had to jump up the one time he did ask me to slide with him because I really do love an inflatable slide.

Spring is a real thing around here and we are fully exploiting it. We spent 2 hours with some friends at the park one night and I was reminded why I love boys and 70 degree weather. I mean, look at that dirt pile!

Also, life is not all dirt piles and parties. This 3 year old definitely lives up to the Terrible Three's slogan because he will lose his mind over ALL.OF.THE.THINGS. I think this evening's particular injury was that we were not going to McDonald's for dinner.

In a slightly alarming twist on our month, Anderson's eye got stepped on at school one day. Seriously. HIS EYE!!!!

Now, he wears rec specs at recess and KidTime.

Also, the day before the nurse had to call me because his throat hurt. The nurse was concerned because she said, "He told me his brother tried to stab him in the throat with a toy..." Her own kids much coexist better than mine do since she was surprised by this.

Check out Curtis!!!!! He is such a celebrity.

Y'all know I love Spring because of all of the random festivals that are just lying around, waiting for us to hoard them.

Perhaps another version of a festival was the Honda dealership where we spent 4 hours one afternoon. It actually was pretty amazing because they had a kid room, lots of stale snacks and wifi.

They also had a "playground" with a scenic view of the interstate.

We decided that driving a gas guzzling monster across town multiple times a day is not our best choice of action, so we traded this girl down for a smaller variety. I was not quite as attached to the Tahoe as I was to our past cars, but I do appreciate what she provided for us over the last 4 years: space, a hallway, a DVD player, 4 flat tires in a 24 hour period, mirrors that folded in to make my parking easier and bluetooth.

I know that I say it all of the time, but on the list of things that I am eternally grateful for I know that this ditch is near the very top.

  1. My favorite picture is the one of all the cousins checking out the worm (or caterpillar) mostly for the various states of dress. Anderson in a sleeveless, football shirt, Lily dressed responsibly for cooler weather in a jacket, Reese in some sort of princess dress, Max as a Ghostbuster, and Levi kicking back in pjs. All the personalities in one shot :)

  2. I love that there is always at least one kid in pajamas
