Christmas Day.

Santa came! Anderson seriously questions EVERYTHING and I really, really want him to believe in magic and Santa and Hogwarts, but I don't want to flat out lie to him, so there were a lot of responses like, "What do you think?" when he asked me about Santa this year. I think he ultimately believed but  I can't tell if it was only because he did not believe we would give him so many presents or because he did not want to hurt my feelings. I love his logical, science focused, ALWAYS questioning mind. I do want magic, but I also love that is he always on the lookout to question things.

Evidence like half eaten cookies totally helped us convince him.

Anderson's Santa loot!

Max's loot! His mixer was the only thing that I did not get an amazing deal on this year (that water bottle from LLBean? Yep, I MADE .20! ), but it was definitely Max's favorite.

The girls.

Goob.

He believed. Or, was giddy and sleep deprived since it was super early. I made him wait until 6 am because I wanted Max to sleep until then and we were laying in his bed for about an hour looking at the "Where is Santa?" app and whispering about if he had already been to our house. It was pretty fun.

PUMPED!

I love this kid. He looked through his Santa stuff and made excited comments/loved all of it. After about 30 minutes, we asked if he was happy with everything and he said yes. Then we asked if there was anything he wanted but didn't get and he said, no. Then, he softly said, "Maybe a basketball goal, but that's ok."

So, we had him take the trash out (on Christmas morning-parents of the year) and he was SO excited! I am so thankful to Brandon/Santa for making this so wonderful!

Brandon/Santa did pretty good for me, too.

He did not let it out of his sight.

Santa got a great $4/free shipping deal on a Titans snuggle a few days before Christmas.
The kid loves some football.

He loves when I make him pose.

The MAX bag!
So thankful to my mom for snagging this year last year because he will receive a gift in it every year.

All I really wanted was a Chickfila calendar because I love the free coupon each month. It is truly the gift that keeps giving. People know me so well that my mom got me one, too.

I am always so impressed with my husband's handwriting.

NFL helmets were definitely a hit. He knows every, single one of them and I know about 5.

He got a new stool. (Love the flowers from LoLo behind him!)

Austin & Curtis came over for a gourmet breakfast that morning (we miss you, Toni!)

Playing with his new toys from Uncle Curtis.

We adopted a daughter! We call her Roomba and she is totally earning her keep. I will keep you posted on this girl and how she changes my life!

Sidenote: Max is TERRIFIED of her. It is truly hilarious.

The new race car track from GG was definitely a hit!

This? Right here? Max-the ENTIRE holiday. I was really wishing Santa brought this kid some new ears. He had a 103 fever from about 10am on and basically just cried all day/night for about 3 days. He was so pitiful.

We drove to Noni's and saw this sight as we pulled in, further reminding me how much I love my family.

And, Max continued his festivities. (the sleeping moments were actually ok/preferred because the alternative was screaming at the top of his lungs.)
Amanda is AMAZING!!! She cooked a delicious dinner which her kids supplemented with McDonalds

I mean, it was so many varieties of delicious. She is totally the cook of the family and we love her.

Also, the most exciting gift was her mixer!! I knew mom had bought it for her, so when she kept talking about wanting one, it was so hard to just nod and agree about how great it would be because I knew it was coming! I cannot wait to see what deliciousness she whips up!
I snapped a few pics BEFORE I left to take the screaming Max home. I mean, he was so awful; this was not something that could be consoled/ignored, so we just left as the present opening was beginning.

Noah.

We got Noni a fake fire/heater thing.

I was not actually there when any of this happened, but I received pics later.

Earlier that day (too lazy to move these), Anderson opened gifts from GG-lots of new clothes,

and cool toys!

Curtis got a gift card!

And, so did Austin!

Fun Science kit from Uncle Curtis!

Right here. Just sort of angry and confused. We actually saved his presents from GG until a few days later because he was so uncooperative.

FaceTime! We miss you, GG!!
Chloe had another hard holiday.

FaceTime with their Mom. Have I mentioned that we miss you, Toni??
Aunt Manda was determined to give Max his gift, so she came over that night and Max's Advil was kicking in a little.

New trains!
Look what my mom and dad made!
Max LOVES Kyler, which is nice because he really does not like many people. Zack made zombie movies of all of us using some Walking Dead app and Max always demands, "MONSTERS!" and his favorite, by far, is Kyler. It is so funny because he always wants to watch them.

In this pic, he was making Kyler play with his piggies.
Also, loving on Noah, who Anderson loves because he plays football/basketball/etc with him.
Look at Max acting normal. Faker.

This was not our favorite Christmas with GG & Jpa far away and Max feeling so awful, but we did have an awesome time with our family!

  1. Even though I know how the basketball goal story ends up, I still get a little sad and nervous every time I think about him not getting one. His little sweet heart.

The video of Max with the mixer is hilarious. Also, I just realized the other day at Mom's that a mixer is a CEMENT mixer, one of those things that swirls. I had no idea.

    The food looks amazing.

  2. 1. This post made me so excited about future Christmases with my kid. I hope they believe in magic for as long as possible.

    2. Brandon has seriously impressive handwriting. He should give lessons. I will buy them for my husband.

    3. So this Chick-Fil-A calendar...can you just go inside and pick one up or buy one?! Are they still available? I'm lazy and always use the drive-thru even though it's insane.

    4. Please update on Roomba!
