About 15 years ago ( maybe longer? how old am I?) I went to a Garth Brooks concert and it was SO awesome. When Garth came out of retirement, I told Brandon, "I will never ask for anything ever again, if you take me to see him!"
Truly, I am so cheap that I will reuse Ziplock bags, but I would not have even flinched if he flew us to Maine or somewhere for his concert. I realize people in Maine don't listen to country, but you get the point.
Anyway, he surprised me one day at work with this!
Can we talk about the fact that I was surprised, but not really because I knew as soon as I mentioned it, he would figure out a way to make it happen. That is just the kind of awesome that he is.
My mom is amazing (duh) and kept the boys so we could leave early enough to drive to Lexington (about 3 hours) have dinner (and snag cheap parking! Score) It was so nice to just hang out with Brandon and actually talk and just be us. I think this is the second time since Max has been born that we have had dinner, just the 2 of us and I loved it.
*To make him even more amazing, I will point out that he has worked about 80 hours a week during the last month and had to actually take off on Saturday so we could go. And, he had to be back early Sunday morning, so we drove back from Lexington after the concert. Amanda was so thoughtful and reserved us a hotel room and, even though we could't stay, it was so nice and one of the reasons we love her!
I was SO happy. I mean, really. There were tears on a few songs, I never sat down and I literally sang every.single.word.
Garth. In Person. Awesome.

I can't think of anyone else who deserves an awesome night like that with her husband than you. :)
