Day 1-BAM. RSV. Both boys down for the count. This was followed by ANOTHER double ear infection for Max later in the month, which meant his 27th antibiotic (ie: destroyed stomach)
Day1-28: Literally, we had events at work in the evening 23 out of the 28 days in the month of Feb. "In the evening" meaning midnight or later on a few occasions. Winter formal, parent nights, talent show, prom fashion show, regular season basketball games, hosting of the district basketball tournament, an overnight meeting....Y'all, I was scared.
Then, in the greatest blessing ever, Mother Nature proved that she is in fact a mom because she knew I needed to actually see my child in his 9th month of life, so she gave us 3 snow days.
It got real around here.
*His favorite? playing hockey and cracking the egg
There are no words to describe how much fun this amazingly fluffy and perfect snow was-8 inches of white, once-in-a-lifetime-when-you-live-in-the-South-snow.
Yet again, we took advantage of early risers and took care of the all of the perfect beautiful snow before all of those kids that sleep past 5am woke up. You know how you get to ice skate with the knife when you get new butter? (If you don't know this, you are missing out) Well, this snow was just like that and WE OWNED IT!
I was there, Anderson was there, this squatty snowman was there.
We got out the sled, the food coloring spray paint, the volcano, all of it.
Noni & Bop even came over for the fun! Leave it to my mom to have a snowman kit in her car...just in case.
My dad is 75. True story.
I couldn't stop taking pics.I was meant to have children if this is what it means.
The snow days were when I was winning the fight with Feb. I mean, I was owning it.
Then, the snow melted. And, I had to go back to working a million hours. And, using FaceTime to see my family.
*Valentine's night.
Love day goodies from GG! Aunt Manda & Noni also gave them treats but I was doing good to get any pics, so their fun stuff did not make it. Sorry guys, but they love their stuff.
We did manage to enjoy some festivities around the house. Anderson got quite the haul from school, we made edible cookies and sent pretty fun treats to his class.*
*This was the perfect time for me to have a serious talk with my boys called, "Bobble believes in playing to my strengths. I cannot even remember my Pinterest password, but I can buy activity packs on clearance for .20 at Target & have Batman valentines that I bought the previous year."
**I did not model that belief when I somehow let snow day giddiness take over and I signed up to bring brownies to the class party. I literally cannot bake brownies to save my life, but we did manage to salvage them with a lot of pink icing & sprinkles.
The egg cracking from earlier. Is this weird that he loves this so much?

It was a very stressful month for you, I was tired, watching you go from sun up to sundown. :) Love the snow pics. That was the best snow ever. You are truly a good Bobble. They will be so thankful when they are grown with wonderful memories of this time.
ReplyDeletei don't think the office looks messy
ReplyDeletei'm glad that you noted that you made "edible" cookies. like that is the name of a type of cookie, like chocolate chip.
anderson and max will remember these times when they look back. not the times you had to work a lot.
How fun that he loves to crack an egg?! February is the worst. Seriously. You survived, the boys survived, and a new, better month is upon us!
ReplyDeleteBtw, your parents in the snow is my favorite thing ever. :)
You survived! Bring on March, April, May and summer! February is the worst. We had what felt like a billion snow days (like stuck inside because it is negative temps snow days). It was a never-ending month. You are an amazing mom - don't ever forget that.
ReplyDeleteFor the record, I don't think the office looks messy. And if you think it does, cling to the fact that there was no time to clean it. That hospitality room wouldn't have run itself...
