Snow days!

In one of the greatest* twists ever, we got some freak snow storm last week schools were closed for 3 days! Unlike the last time, I got all of the days off, too. We settled into a nice little routine of pajama wearing, random food eating, playing with everything and errand running.

*Not so great this week since we had to cram everything from last week into this one, too
We actually got some legit snow, which made me happy I had a sled & glow in the dark sand saved for the occasion! (it was the hoarder in me) One huge perk of early risers was the fact that we literally got all of the good snow & pretty much ruined it for everyone else when we wrote his name in it!

And...right around the time that it was 8 degrees outside & schools were closed our heater broke. We spent a day huddle around the tiny space heater, wearing multiple layers of clothing until Brandon fixed it for us. I have never been as happy as I was when I watched our heat slowly creep into the mid 50 degree range.

Just a lot of trapped inside festivities. The best part was that I was supposed to work late a few nights & was home with these guys instead. THE BEST, BEST PART? Max said his first word! Brother. I am serious. Bru-ther. He was trying to get into the room Anderson was in & the door was shut. The funny thing is that we don't call Anderson "brother", but I guess there have been a lot of phrases such as, "Give that back to your brother!", "where is your brother?", "Stop doing that to your brother", etc. around here, so Max picked up on it. I am serious when I say it was the cutest, sweetest thing ever. And, of course it makes sense that Brother was his first word since Anderson gets up with him at night, drug the pump around with him for 6 months, goes to work with spit up on him....oh, wait. *

*Me. That would be me. But, of course mama has not been said yet. No bitterness here, though.

We even made a race car track at Noni's once we decided to drive on the roads. One of the hardest parts about winter is the 4 year old, high energy boy who is trapped in my house. I really, really need it to warm up enough for him to play outside at school.

Anderson with his space craft (not space craft, as in rocket, but as in an actual craft)

Max saying brother & then us stalking him until he gets annoyed

  4. Brother! That is wonderful! it looks like the boys enjoyed their snow days. I hate that your heater broke - that sucks. I know of three other people that happened to around the same time. What is wrong with Knoxville? Glad you survived - here's hoping the next few days don't bring more of the same!
