I do prefer to avoid direct sunlight.
LOTS of errand running on breaks. Everyone asked, Are you going anywhere on Spring Break? And, my answer was, Oh, yes...Target, Jiffy Lube, the post office, 3 doctor appointments, hair cuts, vet trips, lots of random errands, etc...To mix it up, I threw in Dunkin Donuts occasionally. Anderson was such a trooper most days and it was pretty fun, actually.
We got in a play date with Jack and Lucy!! Look at how cute she is watching her Mommy:)
Lunch date with Bop!
3 year old pics! (Yes, it is a picture of picture, but my scanner is broken) I love being the person at Portrait Innovations who literally only gets the $16 package. Yes, my kid is cute, but I take enough pics of him. I am good with the the one pose package.
A visit to Lily's house was awesome, as usual. We managed to fit in 2 picnics at parks (it was still a bit chilly, but we were desperate), a visit to an awesome Children's Museum that had an entire Dinosaur Egg event complete with dino egg digging, crafts and digging for "real" dino eggs! But, there was also a lot of playing, popcorn eating, parties and the 2 of them reminding us of the fact that boys and girls really do act VERY differently!
I would like to say that Nicole and I are amazed at how great cousins are, but this is not new to us. We grew up with our cousins literally living next door to us, so cousins are just a part of life around here.
*Yes, my sister did have a 5 week old at that point, but she also has a 4 year old who does not require sleep, so by 9am it is generally time to do something out of the house. Nicole has been such a trooper with Reese and gives me a teeny bit of hope for my life with 2. Reese cries quite a bit (she is a newborn) and is as demanding as all newborns...but Nicole is not super fazed by it. We just sort of put the crying baby in the seat and away we went. Despite her normal newborn behaviors, she is not...how do I put this nicely...Lily as a newborn. Nicole said she is so relieved that Reese is just a normal crier who can actually be consoled at times that she basically can ignore crying because she is so relieved. Hilarious.
Anderson made me a picture in Lily's craft area. Since we don't really "craft" at our house, this is not that common, so I had to play it up.
Dino Egg Event at the "Hands On Museum"!
Prince Anderson (Lily had him a green crown) LOVED baby Reese. We all are sort of obsessed with her...She is SO precious and tiny!
Love these guys! (Let's be honest, how much does my OCD brain love that I will get to just keep saying "guys" or "boys" once Max is here? Such efficiency.)

1.the first year we moved to richville, aka-collierville, a neighbor asked jacob if we were going anywhere for spring break. he said, "yes! pump it up!" (for a playdate, on free day)
ReplyDelete2.i also only get the package at portrait innovations. in fact, i make the following bargain with jacob & morgan: do good in the pics i say to do good in (the ones together) and then you can make whatever silly face you want in the ones i don't want (the ones of them alone). i always tell the photographer that i DO NOT want the alone ones, that in fact it insults me that i the customer have to waste my time and the patience of my children while following their stupid "policies," but they insist that they HAVE to take them. so there ya go. wish you could have heard the photographer this past shoot dealing with them making goofy faces...poor girl. i have garzoli blood, dammit, i will win this battle. they just don't understand...
3.efficiency is the best
4.this is still not a nursery post...
Your spring break sounds like ours! Wal-mart, eye appointments and a few trips to the park. Life with two is definitely different (and I am praying you get a super calm, easy-going baby) but it is manageable. Heck, you have mastered the EYE, what is another kid in the mix? I think adjusting to two kids, severe reflux and the EYE almost sent me over the edge. And you don't have two in diapers. Double bonus!!!! Can't wait to see pics of the new one. When does your school year end? We are counting down to May 23.
ReplyDeleteLove the new formal picture!
ReplyDeletePlaying outside w/o pants and w/ boots on.........priceless!!!! Best boyhood picture ever!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd I loved when you said y'all weren't fazed by the newborn crying in her carseat and "away you went".Something about having to deal w/ other kids helps you tune out crying that would've gotten on your nerves if it was the only noise in the car. hahahaha
No pants! Love it! Anderson and Reese are adorable and she oddly looks quite happy being stretched over his lap like that. :)
ReplyDeleteThat last photo is beyond precious.
Now I can picture him holding his baby brother - awww but I still wish I could be there to see it boo hoo - I love Shannon's comment, "Mangarlard-Garzoli blood for sure" It is too thick to every drain out of our genes.
ReplyDeletePuddle jumping is the best, especially with no pants on!!! ha. The formal pic is adorable. Did you tell him to put his hands in his pockets?! The sweetest. Easton just recently started putting his hands in his pockets and it melts my heart. They look so grown when they do it. Glad your Spring break was filled with lots of family and fun.
ReplyDeleteHow did you do the collage of the pants-less water boy at the top? I meant to ask you yesterday, because I saw this post a million years ago and didn't comment.
ReplyDeletePortrait Innovations will never win.
Love the hands in his pockets!
Thanks for coming to visit all of the time.
Yes, stay out of direct sunlight and make sure to dry off.
Apparently I write my comments for your posts in my head and then never bother to put them in the actual computer, thereby tricking myself into thinking I've commented. How cute is he in his 3 year picture?! I love the hands in his pocket and it is proudly displayed on our fridge :) The last picture of Brandon and Anderson, while awesome, is about to be so much more "awesome-er" in just a few short weeks when you have ALL your boys in the same picture together! I can't wait!
ReplyDeletep.s. I love how you narrate what's going on and then launch into sister-defense mode with anything Nicole-related. Only a sister would understand the need to do so and that is one of the many reasons I love you and think you are an awesome friend...and sister! :)
