Meant to be

It was just meant to be that I get to spend my life with so many Glover boys. That grin. Those glasses. Sigh. I cannot believe there is going to be a third one in this picture soon. I'm a lucky girl.
Some people (Aunt Manda) are supposed to be the moms of newborns. Some people (moms of kids who don't have to wear a patch, possibly?) are supposed to be the moms of toddlers. I am 100% sure that I was meant to be the mom of a 3 year old. This is,  hands down, my favorite age. Despite the demands, the tantrums, the weirdness at times that comes with 3, I LOVE, LOVE this age. He is such a person. I swear we are best friends and I actually enjoy running errands with him and having conversations and just hanging out.
This boy who fell asleep with the Ninja Turtle clutched in his hand. (One of the last nights in his toddler bed, by the way)
This boy who has the best imagination and cracks me up all of the time with his way of playing.
This boy who got sun glasses in a goodie bag at a party and immediately said, "These can be for baby Max since I already have some glasses to help me see better!"
This boy who never, ever has pants on and is so content to play in anything resembling dirt/sand.
This boy who apparently snuck this into his pj drawer and told me, "Just in case I need it" when I asked him about it.
Love him without the eye gear, too.
Perk of glasses-they hold the Ninja Turtle mask on!
This boy who always picks flowers for me when we are outside and is just my whole heart and my favorite thing in the world!

Some cute things Anderson has said lately:

-A: Bobble, say the magic word!
Me:Please
A:No, it is Abracadabra, Heroes in a Halfshell Turtle Power, Strawberry, Please

-Bobble, I love you 28 because 28 is a whole lot. 28 is huge! (this one was complete with hand motions to emphasize just how big 28 is)

-A: Are we there yet? Where are we?
Me: We are on Middlebrook Pike.
A: We also have a Kingston Pike ( the boy is already better at directions than I am...)
Me: Yes, Pike is a word for street, like Lane or Drive. There is a street called Alexis Lane.
A: We went to eat lunch with Bop at Alexis Roadhouse yesterday! (Texas Roadhouse...)

-Priest on Easter: Jesus is risen and you are, too!
A: I am not 2! I am 3!

-Me: I am pooped from all of this playing
A: (said in a very, "I've been there" kind of way) In your underwear?

-A: Rhodes (a kid at daycare) really likes my glasses. Everyone likes my glasses because they are green, but I am the only one in the whole class that gets to wear them! (Possibly teared up a bit in the car on this one. I know this will not always be the glasses perception, but it is now and I will take it!)

-Me: Get away, bug, you are so annoying! (said to a gnat that was literally stalking me outside the other day)
A: Me? (in a pitiful little voice...I tried so hard not to laugh, but, bless his heart. Who nicknames their kid, Bug, anyway?)

  2. Love this blog. He is so grown up - love the church one. Reminded me of when Shannon was little and stood up in the pew and yelled out Alleluja! after the Amen in a prayer at church. (she was going to a Quaker daycare and that's what she was taught to say after prayers

  3. Love this post of baby BUG, before he becomes your BIG bug. Again your attention to detail inspires me to wake up to each and every moment. He is going to be such an awesome brother and you will be an amazing mother to two, so excited for you!!!

  5. My nickname was/is "bug" too. It stated as "Laney bug" and then got shortened. A "stuff Anderson says" twitter would be a hit- I am thinking I need a "stuff third graders say" one.

  6. Love this post. Three is so much fun (or almost three in our house). And I call Jed my "bug" too. Jed is my "bug" and Julia is my "bean." Where do we get these nicknames? Love the turtle power and how proud he is of his green glasses. Definitely a cutie patootie!

  7. I am catching up on reading blogs, so I didn't know he loves the Ninja Turtles. Makes me giddy, between that and the dinosaurs! He sounds like such a fun little guy. He's gonna be precious with Max!
