Contrary to what the last month of posts has suggested, we are actually doing things around here besides Christmas, celebrating a certain 3 year old & planning for our new baby boy.
Birthday gift from Aunt Manda! He LOVES this! He seriously thinks he is legit and keeps telling us to put on our football pants and helmet when we play with him.
"Hatching" his dinosaur egg. He LOVED the hatching part. The actual dinosaur was sort of squishy and fell apart, but he seriously stalked the egg for 2 days. He would talk to it and kiss it. He kept saying things like, "I'm going to be your big brother & take care of you." Sweet, but also a bit worrisome as I am not actually going to deliver an egg.
Because my parents are wonderful, they brought Anderson to Powell for a basketball game last week. I am really enjoying my new job, but it is pretty time intensive and some weeks I have 3 or 4 nights where I have to work late, so I miss Bug. While he attended quite a few basketball games as an Admiral, this was his first Powell game. I learned that 3 is not much better than 2 when it comes to sitting still in a gym for 3 hours. We played a lot of "office" in my actual office where he said, "let me send one more email..." and other precious things.
Netflix is our friend. The streaming only plan is under $10 & it has even more than cable does! Here are his recent choices: Land Before Time (LOVE IT!! I totally used to love that movie), Fireman Sam, dinosaurs, volcano documentary (the boy is weirdly obsessed with fire) and a My Little Pony episode with a fire breathing dragon (seriously, at what point should I be concerned about the fire thing?)
Anderson started a new preschool 2 days a week and it was a rough transition (for me, mostly-I am NOT going to be ok with kindergarten.) He has a new firetruck lunchbox and backpack from Noni & they let him pick green for his nametag. The first day he told me I was gone, "berry, berry, berry, berry long", but now...I think he actually likes it!Still enjoying the remnants of the birthday party festivities.
Seriously. Pantless. In a recliner. Eating doritos. Watching TV. Is this my future with 3 of these in my house?
Lily came to visit and these 2 are AWESOME! They were so, so excited to see each other. If you can't have a twin, a built in cousin BFF is the way to go.Noni & Anderson came to my last ultrasound with me! Because I am carrying Max in my thighs basically, it is hard to see everything, so this round was for a head measurement. All looked good!! (I seriously asked if they could see cataracts in the ultrasound...) I loved that my mom could come with me because it is pretty cool to see a baby swimming around in there. I have a feeling ultrasounds 32 years ago were not quite as advanced.
Giant house at Noni's with a Lily living in it!
On his second day of new school, I had a meeting & was rushing to get there by 6. It was pouring rain, so lots of traffic and I went I got there I told him I was late because of the rain. I was worried the whole drive about him waiting on me, but turns out...he wasn't! He said, "Bobble! When it rains, the worms come out of their homes!" Apparently they had walked around outside that day & looked for worms! So, the next day Bop took him on a worm hunt and they found 7! When mom said they could feed them to the birds, she said he was traumatized. They must not have learned that fact about worms yet. Other things he has learned at school: how to hop on one foot, a teeny bit of Spanish counting and how to crack an egg with a spoon. Now, he keeps wanting to demonstrate that last skill at our house!
New dinosaur magnets from Aunt Paula! He loves them. He was playing with them at the doc appt. & he found a sunflower seed on the floor. He asked what it was and I told him and said, someone probably threw it there and it is yucky. He looked at me and said, "No, it is a dinosaur toenail!" LOVE him!!

Melissa,
ReplyDeleteSeveral observations on this post.
1) Your office is nice!
2) You might as well just abandon pants and join in!
3) Did your child just say "Glock" as in gun? while playing with the snake? LOL!!!
4) Where is Anderson's new school?
Like always, it's so much to comment on:
ReplyDelete1. Dinosaur toenail being the best part, of course
2. Followed very closely by him talking to his baby sister dinosaur egg
3. The worms!!!
4. Pantless in a recliner- yes, this will be your life. Stock up on Doritos
5. Lily does need some of those things that hatch. I had no idea what you were talking about
6. Those magnets are Melissa and Doug! Aunt Paula is a great gift giver
7. BFFs
1. I'm thinking a certain 2nd cousin recommended that awesome hat.
ReplyDelete2. Love the dinosaur stalking.
3. No, Jacob was also obsessed with fire. As well as watching Fireman Sam & playing with fire station paraphernalia, we also had a movie that we had to fast forward to get to the fire breathing dragon: "Sleeping Bootie." The prince fights a dragon at the end. Business.
4. "Gotcha snake!"
I would say that you are definitely going to have a lot of pantless people in your house. HA.. That sounds funny! If you can't beat 'em, join 'em. My kids know we are leaving the house or someone is showing up at our house when I tell them to get pants on. :) oh well, there are worse things.
ReplyDeleteHE is such a little person. Which is just awesome.
We are pantless here as well. Actually, Jed usually has no pants and Julia has no shirt (since she is the messiest eater ever). He is so imaginative. When you said he saw the sunflower seed, my first thought was "Wow! He can see the seed on the ground - go Anderson!" Double cool that he said it was a dinosaur toenail.
ReplyDeleteI love that he is into dinosaurs now. My dream/plan is to have a dino-obsessed boy one day! Also, is it just where I live, or did Michael's dollar section turn into the $1.50 section? Not happy about that.
