We love America around here. And, we love green. Oh, and fire trucks & helicopters.
Anderson has been attending the 4th of July parade since before he was born. (Literally, the cheerleaders had just found out I was pregnant and made me a shirt that said "I'm pregnant!" in red/white/blue.) But, this was the first year that he was really excited about it & it was awesome!

All kinds of fun stuff was in the parade, like go carts, fire trucks, police cars, jeeps and helicopters even flew overhead! Thanks for the shirt, Aunt Lo Lo!
This non sleeping thing is taking a bit of a toll on all of us. He is so tired he has just started crashing randomly. But, no way was I letting him miss helicopters, so I woke him up!He was SO excited; it was great.
The besties.
They found an ant! Was as exciting as the fire trucks.
In a really pleasant twist on the the day, we went to a small airport where the police helicopters are kept & they let Anderson run around & obsess over everything. Was awesome. Shirt #2 was supplied by GG, but I couldn't get a very good pic of it. It's adorable.
America!
Seriously, he was allowed to just run around the airport. I was not sure his day could handle any more.
And, then he got to actually ride in this thing. I am sure it has a name, but I am not sure what it is. Huge, awesome, police truck?
In a "highlight of an already really, really cool day" move, we watched 2 police officers rappel from a helicopter right. in. front. of us. There was actually dirt in my eyes from the wind it created.
A pic taken by Jack's uncle who works for the News Sentinel!
This is not on zoom. It was right there.
We watched fireworks from the sunsphere! It's a circle, so Anderson played race car and helicopter all night just running around and around and around... (Oh, don't think it wore him out because he slept from 11pm-5:45am that night. But, that's a story for another day. Or every day)
The Sunsphere for you non-Knoxvillians. It was built for the World's fair in the 80's & just hangs out downtown.

That helicopter demonstration is so crazy impressive. And I love the look back on past 4th's of July! We had so much fun with you guys at the parade - I feel a tradition coming on! :)
ReplyDeleteI always love Anderson's outfits... but the shoes!!! They are killing me. Azalea has a similar pair in pink but the patriotic plaid on a boy no less, perfection! That Sunsphere thing looks like fun on any day, but being in it AND watching fireworks!?! Yay for good times! :)
ReplyDeleteI want to come hang out next year on the 4th!
ReplyDeleteThe ant pic is my favorite.
your life seems SOOO fun! Anderson is a trip! Love the old pics!
ReplyDeleteohhhhhh, THAT sunsphere ;P
ReplyDeleteHe's always looked like Brandon but the picture of him waving at the parade is SOOOO Brandon!
ReplyDeleteYou are an awewsome Mom to find all of this truck stuff! LOVE IT!!
So, I am totally not used to living in Farragut yet. We headed out of town on the 4th and I was so mad the streets were closed for the parade. If I was a good mom, I would have been at the parade instead of cursing it on my way to Nashville. Oops.
ReplyDeleteHow on earth did you get Sunsphere seats for the fireworks?? I thought it was closed off for special people for events like that.
Looks like so much fun. Anderson is adorable.
