The seal, the parrot & the fam.

Anderson is just getting over croup. I am not a fan of it. In addition to coughing like a seal, he has been Grumpy(that G is capitalized on purpose.)Thank goodness I can drop him off at Noni's where he is rocked, gets to watch go to Bop's shed & is totally loved by a woman who is much more patient than I am. From a different perspective, it is interesting when your kid has a long term "situation" because you tend to take other things in stride. I had such an AWFUL patch day the other day (Seriously, probably 20 by 9am) that I totally forgot he was sick. It was not even on my radar. I have learned that if it is going to go away within 2 weeks (months, years...) then, while it is annoying, it really is fine. Of course I hate him not feeling well, but the #1 concern remains The Eye.
Anderson must be an animagus because he is also able to turn into a parrot at whim! He seriously repeats everything we say. I love it. I know that kids who aren't around other kids sometimes don't talk as well, but clearly Noni makes up for a room full of toddlers!
Love some cousins.
Anderson is such a BOY! He & Brandon wrestle on the floor all of the time. And, it has to be daddy. I am told, "Move, Bobble!" when I try to join in the fun.
Bobble Cole reading the Spoon book to him. He kept patting her every time the Bobble Cole spoon appeared in the story. It was like he couldn't believe the real Bobble Cole was there & so was the spoon Bobble Cole.
Running to see GG!! He is all about seeing his GG and Bu Pa. Whenever we get in the car he asks to go over there. How cute is this picture?
We drove to Ooltewah to meet Aunt Manda & Uncle Zack to drop Lily off with them & it was such a random/fun thing to see them! Anderson spent the entire drive saying their names, but I don't think Lily really believed it until she saw them.

Someone loves her Aunt Manda.
How awesome is Uncle Zack? He took Anderson into the play thing so many times, despite the fact that I don't think it is really made for adult size.
Started a new game called, "Here Comes Sissa".It's really fun.

I cannot get enough of his little voice. Just in case you can't either, here is a little video of him pointing out his trucks.

I am partially embarrassed to post this video. Our kids are Spoiled Rotten. Please check out their excitement with seeing a few of their favorite people, Aunt Manda & Uncle Zack! Also, check out the grumpiness and lack of patch/glasses that usually accompanies lengthy car rides. Anderson is kind of squinting with his left eye, which he does sometimes in the light. EYE MOMS: do your boys do that ever with their cataract eye? Dr Cogen assured us it is normal, but I still like to check.

  1. Thank you honey for the compliment...funny, I always thought Nanny was so patient, much more than me. It must be old age. I love that boy, he is so smart.

  2. Austin squints the affected eye in the sunlight or if he goes from a dim room to a brighter room, too. I have asked the same question of his PO, and got the same response that you did. Blake, my older son, said it looks like that eye just woke up. :) Which is pretty accurate description of what that eye does when he is not patched.

He is such a doll! Smart little dude. :)

  3. love this post!!!! so much to say. ok, first, LOVE the pic of them asleep on the recliner. second, yes, aunt deb is awesome-that is why she is my fave!! :) third, i think it is sweet that he doesn't want you to wrestle! sort of like he is protecting you. fourth, still love the whole "bobble cole" thing. fifth, it still continuously amazes me how awesome zack is with kids, i mean, who saw that coming??? sixth, love the pic with aunt manda. seventh, i can't believe zack was able to bend his body that way in the slide. that made my back hurt just looking at it. eighth, did we give you that truck book? we had one just like it. i probably saved it. but jacob was just as obssessed and could name them all too. jon's mom actually gave him that for his bday one year, and he just happened to open it first, and he literally did not want to open any other presents. he just sat there looking at that book while i opened the rest. ninth, so glad you got lily's reaction on camera. nicole's post mentioned that she got so excited she almost cried and i have been wanting to see it ever since. love it. aunt manda must have felt pretty awesome!!!

  6. Yes, Easton squints with his bad eye, mostly when he is not patching (or at least that is when I notice it more?). And yes, usually when the light is too bright or if I am taking a picture of him with the flash. Interesting, concerning... who knows?! I guess they grow out of it?

Love the videos, both are adorable!

  7. They are too cute! Anderson speaks so well for his age! I love that photo of Lily and Amanda, I bet they miss seeing each other every day. Y'all are seriously the cutest family ever.

Oh, and I am also never allowed to wrestle with my boys. Worked in my favor when I was pregnant, though. I feel his sexism may have kept his sister alive. :)

  8. Poor guy with croup. Glad he is on the mend. um, i just about started crying at the precious response of those two seeing aunt manda and uncle zach. I cant stant it!! That was out of control adorable. Anderson is clearly a tiny genius like Lily - he talks so well! I can't believe he knows all those trucks/tractors. Last thing - what is the spoon book that they love so much? Molly may need one of those!

  9. I loved this post; hearing Anderson talk and watching Lily when she saw Amanda (it gave me chills) and now I will go off and cry because everyone is not together in the same city.

  11. OK...so my babe isn't a little boy but she does squint her eye ;)
Her pupil doesn't constrict as much as the stronger eye. So definitely when we are outdoors and it's sunny or windy she has a squint.
    I think it's cute. =)

  12. Oh my gosh. I was so in love with this post already, and I thought nothing could get cuter than Anderson pointing out the trucks (Firetruck!!!), then I saw the video of them with Zack and Amanda. I am still crying thinking about it. Will have to pull a Shannon and go watch it again. I was not prepared for how precious it was going to be. Thanks for taking it.

PS. I am so glad you have your eye moms. It is weird that I can't help. We usually share everything and know it all. :( I will have to buy him something with a tractor.

  14. Oh my gosh! The videos are awesome! I was watching the video of Ace pointing out trucks and my cat came running into the room to sit on my lap to hear more. So apparently she is in love with Anderson. He is her Justin Beiber. LOL!

I seriously teared up when Lily got so excited about Aunt Manda! What a wonderful thing to have caught on video. I'm going to watch both again and again and again!

  15. First of all the picture with Amanda and Lily is the cutest thing ever. I LOVE Anderson's video with all of his trucks. And you are so right...his voice is TOO cute! The video of Lily seeing Amanda is probably one of the cutest things ever too. You can't tell she loves them at all, huh?

  16. total stalker here (I saw this video on Amanda's FB wall)! We know Amanda & Zack from Hoover (my husband coaches Kyler & Noah in lacrosse) and we've gotten to meet Lily a couple of times. Don't know who misses who more, Amanda or Lily!!! They are such good people and my girls LOVE Kyler & Noah. Especially Kyler. He's a little stud. Taylor is 17 and always says, "if Kyler was just a little older . . . " Kendall is 12 and says, "if Kyler was just a little younger . . . " hahahaha!
