Nicole took this adorable picture of him pledging to the flag. He loves some America. And, running into things apparently, based on his bruises. Oh, a boy.

First day of "school"! (Mother's Day Out) was this week. It was chilly, so we busted out some winter clothes. He is precious, barely fitting into his 18 month old clothes. Love his little backpack from Jessica. His pirate lunchbox from GG is in there, too! As is a very detailed explanation of The Eye & about 100 patches. I am so excited about being him around other kids & playing with new toys, but am , of course, nervous about the patch staying on all day. As I explained in his letter, "2 minutes does matter". Dr. Cogen said it is more important that he patches than that he has social interaction, so here is hoping they can keep it on. I have good feelings about this because he is SO much better with it than he was last year. This was the best picture I could get.

This was the second best picture.

Notice the little blue shirted boy in the background playing with his trucks! Also, one of the highlights of my week...I get to bring juice boxes to the Thanksgiving party!!!

Because I am so lucky, a mom of one my old cheerleaders is his teacher! So, she took my phone & got a real picture. Let's just say, it was worth all of those Friday nights standing at the FHS track to have his teacher's number already in my phone!
Wow Noni is usually the first to comment so I had to jump on the opportunity! ;) I loved the flag pic in the other post, happy to see it again so precious! Will you email me a copy of your letter?! Seriously, I have no idea how to go about explaining and emphasizing the importance of eye/patch care. Curious as to how you did it. Have to keep me/us posted on how it goes...
ReplyDeleteWell Amanda, she snuck this one in on me.. I just checked a while ago.:) He loves school. Today, I kissed his head as he was trying to throw his leg over the gate to get in. ha.
ReplyDeleteCan I just say that I love a boy with bruises all up and down his legs? Boys are not boys unless they are dirty, bruised, and loud. Love it!
ReplyDeleteso happy for you that you know one of his teachers!! for 2 of jacob's 3 years in MDO and in Pre-K i was friends with jake's teachers. and by this i mean we actually went out, were FB friends, AND TEXTED THROUGHOUT THE DAY. needless to say, i was in heaven. and needless to say it was a real shock to me last year when his kindergarten teacher called for the first time with a "number block" on...i mean, really, she didn't want me texting her all day asking how he was??? craziness...
ReplyDeleteIt looks like he loved it! I love the pirate shirt!! I think he will be distracted enough with all the new activities everyday to maybe leave the patch on. Fingers crossed!! :-)
ReplyDeleteWhat a cutie!!! That picture of him pledging to the flag.... SOOO sweet.
ReplyDeleteHooray for school! He looks precious with his backpack. :)
ReplyDeleteYay for juice boxes and new trucks!
ReplyDeleteAlso, I keep thinking about Dixie's butt just right outside of that picture. Haha. Makes the picture even better.
