August

August is usually really crazy and, while we were definitely busy, this year was nothing like normal.

We drew names & had to buy a Goodwill shirt for our person and then we all wore everything to work.

On the way home from work one day I saw a turtle in the middle of the road and I stopped and picked it up. I carried it home in my empty lunch container because I knew that Max would be PUMPED. He was so happy and did not want to let him go, but I convinced him that this park would be a good place for him to live.

They were both pretty excited.
So much snuggling with this kid.
Last few weeks of pool time.
We went to Adventure Action park and were basically the only people there. It was a nice change of scenery.
Football started in July and our entire house is thrilled about this. At practice one night, Anderson walked over, lifted up his helmet and handed me his tooth. He has lost most of his teeth at some kind of sporting event.
Visit to Pappaw's window.
Anderson caught this lizard in our garage. I love that he is still semi interested in catching things, even though he is basically a grown up.
Pappaw!
Haircuts and masks.

We went to Columbus during one of Anderson's basketball tournament weekends and we were all so happy to see our people!!
Max caught these tiny frogs.
He loves a net, water shoes and getting soaked.

He also loves a hotel bed.

He had to go with me to a doctor appointment one day and I rewarded him (and myself) with Duck Donuts. Amazing.
Facetime with these 2 while they were in KY at a tournament. Max & I stayed behind on that trip.
We walked to Anchor Park & did a little fishing.
Games with Noni.
Zack & Amanada came to Knox and we got to spend even more time with them, which is always our favorite.

Max & Brandon spent more time spent catching things.
Anderson had fun at Reed's lake party.
First day of 5th grade! Brandon took him, but I snagged this pic first.
First day of 2nd grade! We literally couldn't remember where to look during a picture. Bless.
Happy Birthday, Brandon!!
I took Max to a birthday party (John Long's) and Brandon/Anderson had a guy's night with sushi!
We celebrated August birthdays at Toni's!
Love these people.

Haircuts in masks....crazy times.

Anderson: Travelers AAU 4th Grade

Anderson played his first season with the Travelers this year and, while it was not what we expected (#rona,) he really enjoyed it.  They had 2 tournaments and then the world shut down for a few months. They finished out with more tournaments, including a few out of town ones.

All of the entertaining of Max: the first tournament (Gatlinburg) involved snow, icicle crushing and ice hunts.

Max loved running out to shoot any time there was an opening.
All of the snacks.

We spent entire days (weekends?) at these places, so there are seriously so many snacks.
And, entertainment.
I do not have a lot of pics  from the season, but I do have this one from a basketball stop at Dicks.
They won one of their first tournaments.
So proud of this kid-always the only one in rec specs.
During the quarantine, he did some training sessions with a real VFL.
We all went to one out of town tournament & the hotel was a huge hit.
I just love this pic of Ferg.
My view from above.
Second place in this tournament-drove home from GA late at night.
I took this one because I was so excited that he was right in front of me during this game.

I don't have a lot of pics, but I am really proud of how hard he worked (3 practices a week/tournaments on weekend) and how much he improved. It was a fun season.
