Life as a Hawk

I had the opportunity to work as an AP at a brand new middle school and I am really excited about it! So far, it has been very different because I am used to high school, but it is also fun to figure out new things.

A few pics of the construction-watching the building go up was really, really cool.

The library is amazing.

My new Admin team-Cory & Wendy.

The parents & Aunt Paula came to visit me one day, which was fun!

My office.

Always.

Boys: Kindergarten & 3rd Grade

Max: Kindergarten
Max started kindergarten & the jury is still out on how he feels about this. We had such an amazing set up at Goddard-the teachers truly loved Max, he was so comfortable there and he had a pretty tight group of friends who traveled from room to room together over the past 4 years. Max definitely misses his friends, Cozy corner, centers, naptime, 2 recess times, Monkey/Blanket/Max Jr at school with him and his buddies. But, I know that change is a pretty obvious part of life so he will be fine once he adapts. Plus, he gets to see his friends at KidTime!

One of the last pics of his Goddard days-I will really miss these daily pics!

Max met his teacher and agreed to pose with Finley! He is already starting off so differently than Anderson.

Posing in front of his cubby!

Less than one full week in and I am already in love with his teacher, Mrs. Johns.

I ran over there from our own "Meet the Teacher" time and Mom met me there with this kid. Always rushing, but always making it work, thanks to our village.

Another few Goddard pics mixed in here....

I will not actually miss the camo outfit wearing because it was a FIGHT every morning to make sure he had all of the correct pieces, which were always different than the pieces he chose the night before...fun times.

Love his willingness to "dress up" but still sneak the camo hat.

Giant backpack. He loves it.

Posing during our hours of extra time waiting in the cafeteria in the morning on his first day.

Love.

His teacher sent this home-Amazing.

The cutest pic I have ever seen. I cannot wait to see this kid's adventure in kindergarten!

 Anderson: 3rd Grade

Anderson started 3rd grade & it is the 1st year that his grade makes any actual sense to me. I am still trying to figure out how he is not already in middle school, at least, but I will take 3rd grade.

"First Day" pics are so hard to take because we have to walk to the bus at 6:28 and we are rushing and it is dark outside, so the lighting does not help, but I snagged this on his 6th night of school. Brandon got him a new bike and he LOVES it.

Posing with his teacher, Mrs. Stedham, and his buddy, Noah. I am really excited that he has a friend in his class this year!

Clare & I had a GNO at Kindergarten Open House-I will take it, even if it was not nearly long enough!

Chloeworm

We said goodbye to our girl, Chloe the worm girl Glover, in June and we miss her but are so grateful that we had so much time with her. One day in February, 2003, Brandon & I were going to visit his grandfather & made a pit stop at PetSmart where Chloe picked us out. When she peed all over Brandon's shoes, we knew she was ours.

She was destructive and intense from the beginning-she destroyed all of my roommates' property, carpet and flooring at multiple apartments,  whined all night, ran away whenever possible just to make us chase her and was overall, crazy. She was perfect.

My favorite Chloe memories:
1. She literally ran into various neighbors houses at different times when she ran away from me. I had to chase her down and get her out.

2. She would jump in anyone's car if they opened their door for even a second.

3. She always, always traveled everywhere with me in my 2 door Honda civic. She loved the rides and thoroughly enjoyed getting my car covered in dog hair.

4. She ate so many non-food items: crayons, toys, shoes, socks, dryer sheets, light bulbs, her own collar (more than once) at the groomer when they left it to close to her.

5. She was such a scavenger and would ALWAYS take the punishment in exchange for whatever she could grab and eat.

6. She was a snuggler and was always in our bed, on the couch or in the driver's seat with me.

She ate everything. Seriously.

Chloe with her BFF, Bean. They spent every day together for an entire year when Clare & I lived in the same place.

Sweet, fluffy girl.

I have hundreds of pictures of us at Christmas. The girl loved a holiday.

She also had many, many Halloween costumes.

Our family when it was just the 3 of us.

I remember the day we brought Gabs home and how nervous I was to tell Chloe. From the beginning, Chloe wore the pants and pretty much manhandled Gabs. Even when Gabbi grew much bigger and more ferocious, Chole still ran the show and would always eat her food, run her off of the couch, etc. They were truly sisters.

She was always so patient with the boys, even when they were crazy.

She LOVED the snow.

More sibling fighting.

She always stole our bed.

We miss her.

We sure were lucky to have her for so long.
