Jammies

When we were little Nicole & I always had our pic made with our cousins in our Christmas pjs. See the picture below that I swiped from Aunt Paula's facebook page. I am not sure what was (is) wrong with our hair, but the point is that the overall picture is really cute. So, to be festive Anderson & Lily had their pj picture taken & it is really precious! If only we could find those footy pjs in Kyer & Noah's sizes!

In general, I love, love some jammies & if you add a baby in them, it really does not get any better. Thanks to doting aunts, clearances & consignment sales I have paid about $10 total for all of his current pjs. So, I guess it does get better. Here are a few of the pairs. Yes, there are actually 5 pairs or so that are not pictured. I really meant it when I said I love them.

He has been doing this butt scoot thing for a few weeks now, especially if he is holding a toy. I am not sure if it is a backward step from crawling or a step toward walking. Or, maybe it is just odd.

From Aunt Cole.

The pjs and the tool toy thing cost $6 total at a Consignment Sale. bargain.

Glow in the Dark skeleton jammies that I got on clearance last year for $1 after Halloween! I am a big believer in stocking up at a clearance sale. I am embarrassed to admit that not only does Anderson have a tub for 18 month & 24 month clothes, but I bought a 3t shirt the other day. It was 75 cents. I couldn't resist.

Monster jammies from Aunt Cole.

This is what happens when you have a 9 month old & you turn your head for one second.

Trying to get the monthly blanket picture. Exhausting. Cute glow in the dark jammies from Aunt Manda.

the week.

And so it begins.
In addition to discovering the fun of the toilet, Anderson is starting to attempt to feed himself. Please place the emphasis on attempt. He actually made a part of the spoon to his mouth twice. Of course it had no applesauce left on it and this was 2 out of 200 tries, but it was still pretty cute.

Brandon was KPD Officer of the month for August because he tracked down & busted a bad guy who confessed to over 70 burglaries! I am so proud of him. Saving the world, one day at a time.

In my mind it was going to be so fun to take Lily & Anderson to the Farragut game. Yet again, I learned the lesson that dreams & reality are not the same thing.

Since Lily was here last week, Anderson had to learn to share. He was pretty good at sharing most things, but was pretty selfish when it came to his Noni. So, he started stalking her & whenever there was a free lap, he was there. I couldn't even finish dressing him without frantic crawling toward her.
One of Anderson's favorite games to play is when I drag him around on this blanket. As soon as he sees it, he lays face down and holds on with a big grin. I love it, of course. Well, I discovered that pulling 2 chubbers is a little more difficult but even more fun!

I kind of cut off his head, but how cute are these overalls with the police car?

Jessica came to visit last weekend & brought Anderson this awesome singing pirate bear! And, not even 1 semester into her first year, she was chosen as Teacher of the Month at her school!

Aunt Ems came to visit also & I managed to get 0 good pics of her, which was mostly because she was so busy playing with Anderson & Lily. I love when Emily is here because she literally just is one of us-eating spaghetti, watching Nicole & I argue, picking up Catholic tips from my mom even though she is not Catholic...

This video of Anderson is clips from a few weeks ago, but I just loaded them. He is definitely a boy-lots of energy!!

I love watching Lily. She is hilarious.

The best day.

Today was the big time!! Every single day of Anderson's life he has heard the Taylor Swift song, "The Best Day" sung in my awesomely tone deaf voice. It is our favorite. If you have never heard it, here is a link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=memsP8-k5Ew It is to her mom, which doesn't really apply to me because I am singing it to my son, but every day with him IS the best day, so therefore we make it work. Anyway, the first verse is about how they are at a pumpkin patch & it is the best day.For 9 months, we have discussed this pumpkin patch situation in song form & today we saw it in real life! Nicole & I were singing parts of it the entire time we were there. Almost like a "twin language".

Our outing was not exactly the same as Taylor Swift's childhood. The song mentions it being cold, which clearly was not the case today as we sweated our way through the corn. Anderson lost the overalls & rocked the lumberjack onesie look.
"I hear you laugh & look up smiling at you, I run & run..." (Ok, so he is not looking up at me & he is not quite to running yet, but you get the idea)

"...past the pumpkin patch..."

"...and the tractor rides..."

"I hug your legs & fall asleep on the way home. "

There is no mention of sand in the song, but this was maybe his favorite part.

He also had a pretty good day at Sams' last week! In addition to fun samples, he played in the giant stuffed animal box. I am not really sure that this is allowed, but nobody stopped us so we went for it.

I was trying to get a smiling picture but he started sinking into the fluffiness. I should have stopped and pulled him out, but I didn't.
Thank goodness for Noni who rescued him! I think I was distracted by the fact that these cost $50!! If someone has so much disposable income that they can spend a weekly grocery budget on a giant caterpillar, I am seriously concerned.

Please notice how much he loves his Aunt Cole. Seriously, I tried to do this and it didn't get nearly the same response. I think it is because she made him his cute tie shirt. And, possibly because he knows that she has that ball pit in her house.

9 months & a trip to Bham!!

Anderson is 9 months old!! I have incorporated his 9 month details/updates with the pics of the weekend trip to Birmingham. Brace yourself: it's a lot of pics. First, the bear pictures are continuing to be exhausting. This was, by far, the best one of the 20.
Sadly, I think this was the 2nd best one. His favorite thing to do is bang stuff together & the more noise it makes, the better. He loved playing with Lily's toys-especially the old phones.
Anderson now has 4 teeth! I don't have a picture of this, so here is one of him playing with mine. You might be wondering why I have not mentioned the teeth situation before & that is because he literally grew 4 in the span of 3 days. There were no teeth for 8 1/2 months & then, bam, 4 appeared-the bottom 2 & the top 2. It is really stinkin cute. He hasn't even acted fussy, leading me to believe the people who complain about their kids teething are the same ones who are against the crying it out. I don't know why I connect these 2, but I do.

Much to the disappointment of the other males in the room, he was more interested in the jack in the box than watching Alabama lose. Please notice the UT room. Pretty awesome.

Uncle Zack is so, so great & and always plays with Anderson. Riding toys are a favorite of both of them. I think it is cute because Anderson even lifts his feet when he is being pushed!

I learned a lot about my future with a son from my teenage (and almost teenage) nephews. There is lots of powerade, chauffeuring to practices & games, smelly cars & ball throwing in the house in my future. Apparently there is also pasta on the stairs. About 20 seconds after Kyler opened the door to go to the basement, he reappeared and said, "Mom, I'm going to need some more fettuccine." Noodles & sauce covered everything. It was hilarious because his biggest concern was a refill.

Anderson loves his Aunt Manda! This could possibly be because there are new clothes & toys all the time, but I think it is because of the hugs. You will notice that she is in the backseat with him even though the front seat was empty. That is just how Aunt Manda does things.

Anderson has discovered Lily. He follows her around & tries to pull up on her. Nicole & I are really obsessed with taking a picture whenever they are in a 2 mile radius of each other. I think this is because we are both secretly still a little in shock that we each have a kid. He is getting pretty good at eating "people food". His favorite foods are cheese (LOVES cheese!), yogurt, Popsicles, mac & cheese and whatever Noni is serving for lunch. He also really loves the puffy Gerber cheeto things. They cannot be good for him, but he really likes them & I figure they help him learn to pick stuff up. Look at me, already justifying.

Anderson can wave hi & bye now. It is so cute. He is really frantic about the bye and usually both hands are involved. He practiced his skills at the Lacrosse game. Kyler & Noah played each other, so we were able to see both of them play! They are really good, so it was a lot of fun. I am hoping for some UT lacrosse scholarships so they will be close to me. I don't think UT has a lacrosse team, but I figure there is still time.

Clearly their moms are identical twins.

Aunt Cole was able to experience the exhaustion that is giving Anderson a bottle. "He is a wiggly thing" were the exact words. Please notice the pig tail wearing grown up in the background.

What are these balloon things called? I don't know, but he loved it! Banging things is his favorite so this was a hit all afternoon.

Last Friday, we played Bearden (the big rival) so Anderson came to the pep rally before school to get everyone ready. They are the Bulldogs, which is why it is crossed out on his overalls. It helped because we won! He played in the box that the tshirts were in & danced with all the music. You will notice teachers in the background wearing shirts decorated like cans & that's because we always have a can drive competition & the teachers perform the can dance. I was Spaghetti-O's! A perk of teaching: you never actually grow up.

Getting ready for Halloween! He pulls up on everything & is cruising everywhere. He will even let go for a few seconds to stand and play or to grab the closest furniture. I don't think I am quite ready for walking mobility.

Since there is definitely not a modeling gene in our family, I have no idea where this pose came from. I think his serious side came out during Aunt Manda's photo shoot.

He is into EVERYTHING!!! I literally hung a shirt in the closet. Not even 5 seconds.

Aunt Manda, the Photographer!

We are in Birmingham this weekend & Amanda took a bunch of really good pics for us. She also bought Anderson the clothes he is wearing (and some pjs, toys and other clothes), so he is not spoiled at all. Here are a few of them.
